Examining the Lessons Kids Learn From Government

Tell your child to forget about it and keep the past n the past..

2) Tell your child he or she was wrong.

3) Tell your child those behaviors are unacceptable and he/she must now make amends.

If you were a government and you found out you had caused the group down the block to be abused and beaten, what would you do?

1) Urge your fellow citizens to forget about it and keep the past in the past.

2) Tell your fellow citizens, "Boy, were they wrong."

3) Tell your fellow citizens your collective actions were unacceptable and now the community must make amends.

Children learn how to respond to terror, tensions, and injustice from the grownups in their lives. Canada's youth this week received a lesson in moral leadership from the government, which stood up and took responsibility for its past mistakes.
