	The LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Alumni Association – Memphis Chapter hosted a 90th birthday celebration for Dr. Jerry C. Johnson Sr. on Friday at the Holiday Inn Select, 2240 Democrat Road. The honoree’s family was on hand to join in the celebration.
	Dr. Johnson is pictured with LOC interim president Dr. Johnnie B. Watson (right). Proceeds from the event will benefit present and future student athletes at LOC, the city’s only historically African-American college.
	Those on hand to congratulate Coach Johnson (second from left) were state Reps. G.A. Hardaway and Joe Towns Jr., and former TSD sports columnist Bill Little.
