Grammy-winner Hamilton’s performance was absolutely awesome!
Hamilton hit the stage last with his enormous star power characteristics looking bigger than life! After meeting the down-to-earth, humble singer, it seemed as if he threw all reservations out the window and got right down to business!
Wearing a black leather jacket, white collar shirt, a skinny tie and blue jeans, Hamilton hit the stage performing some of his chart topping hits such as “Comin’ from where I’m From”, “Can’t Let Go” and his latest single, “Point of it All.”
As Hamilton’s performance went on through the night he slowly sung right out of his clothes, ending up in just the shirt and jeans - singing his heart out with that real southern swag.
In my previous interview with Hamilton he said, “Expect me definitely to be live and direct…. Memphis get ready, hey, I might even go into the audience! Just imagine Cirque du Soleil but you can call it Soul Du’ Leil’!”
The audience really had a chance to experience Hamilton’s Soul Du Leil’ as he jumped off the stage and ran through the crowd touching the fans while singing his feel-good music.
Hamilton had the audience on its feet with a crowd favorite “Sista Big Bones” and stirred souls with songs such as “Can’t Let Go,” “Charlene,” & “Soul’s on Fire.” The room rumbled with screams, hands clapping and feet stomping. It was a performance many will not forget.
The night began with the 26-year-old beautiful, sultry-voiced Chrisette Michelle. Her edgy, youthful and urban appeal seemed to dazzle fans while she sang her newest single “Epiphany (I’m Leaving),”which infuses jazz and pop. The “Soulful Songbird” delighted the fans with her style and vocal abilities.
The second treat of the night was platinum recording artist Musiq Soulchild, who appeared on the stage looking good wearing all white with red accents. His unique style definitely can be described as a blend of soul, funk, hip-hop and rock. With many award nominations and nine Grammy nominations Musiq’s live performance solidifies his place as an exceptional vocalist.
Along with an excellently entertaining all girl band named Anna Mae, Musiq performed hits such as “Soulstar,” “Teach me,” “If You Leave,” “Halfcrazy” and “The Girl Next Door.” He won the hearts of the ladies as he threw roses out in the audience and sang “LOVE.”
