The world is in shock today as news sources confirmed that pop icon Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors at the UCLA Medical  Center.

He reportedly had cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon in his rented home in California around 12:26pm.  The paramedics performed CPR on him before taking him the hospital.  He was 50 years old.

Even the news of his death prompted legions of news trucks and journalists descended upon the UCLA Medical Center.  The emergency entrance there was roped off with police tape,

Jackson was planning a comeback concert at the O2 Arena in London for 50 shows.  The concert, which was sold out in a matter of minutes, was supposed to start on July 8.

Jackson has been in the public eye for most of his life and has been idolized for his talent as a dancer and singer internationally.  Unfortunately, he has also made headlines for eccentric behavior, plastic surgeries, alleged child abuse and being a recluse.
