‘We love you Michael Jackson’
The Tri-State Defender’s “All Over Town” personality Nyah Nile reflects on the Memorial Tribute to Michael Jackson, and then passes along the thoughts of others who wanted to put their respect for the “King of Pop” into words.

Love and heartache filled so many workplaces, homes, and streets all over the world during the memorial tribute for Michael Jackson at the Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7). The outpouring of support throughout the World Wide Web was astonishing.

Tears and emotions ran high for so many, including me. Watching the ceremony and reflecting on the many memories of M.J., I began to miss him more than any other day and I thought, “Why did he have to go?”

Stevie Wonder said it best: “This is a moment that I wished I didn’t see come….as much as we may feel as though we need Michael here with us, God must have needed him far more.”

Michael Jackson truly gave his heart and soul to the world threw his great humanitarian works and music.

Forever in our hearts, we will always cherish the King of Pop and Greatest Entertainer in the world. We love you Michael Jackson.

For the record:

“It was a great celebration and a powerful situation….Over all, it was great. And when Al Sharpton said what he said we all stood up here. He knocked the ball out the park with that comment.”
– Kurt “KC” Clayton (Musical Director for "United We Funk All-Stars" Tour)

“It was just so good to see the family come together. The ceremony for Michael Jackson was the best I have ever seen.”
– Larry Dodson Jr. (Key Acct. Manager at Millers Coors Light and son of the legendary Larry Dodson from the Bar-Kays)

“I thought it was very well presented, the production was excellent. It was the most fitting tribute for a major entertainer that I have ever seen in my lifetime. It was so nice to hear the people speak about the memories.”
–Fred “Hollywood” Moore (Radio personality)

“Michael Jackson's Memorial Service is Amazing! I thank God and the Jackson family for sharing him with The World."
- Corliss Strong - one of my Facebook Friends

“I was moved how they looked past his transgressions and saw the musical legend. That proves that God is always in control and orders our hearts, even when it’s out of our ability. I only pray that Micheal Jackson was saved and made it into heaven. At the end of all this the only thing that matters now is those beautiful children and what’s best for them...”
- Tanesha Jackson (Facebook friend)
