Her latest book, “How to Get the Healthy Back in Your Hair” covers topics that relate to everything there is to know about maintaining healthy hair, even those secrets that most hairdressers will not share.

“There so many illegal secrets in the hair care industry and people are making so much money off of those secrets,” says Brown, “but people are going bald as a result. I’m trying to bring back the foundation of healthy hair so that people will make better decisions about their hair.”

Brown not only focuses on informing the public, she strives as well to keep peers in the hair care industry informed. She regularly holds a series of workshops that helps stylists become effective in the salons and in the back offices. Her latest seminar project “How to Build Wealth Behind the Chair” is aimed at teaching stylists and salon owners the business of doing hair.

“I want to help those in the industry to master their craft, says Brown, “Those in the hair care industry are oftentimes less respected because we do not perform professionally. I want to educate them on every level, from mastering their craft as well as mastering being a business professional.”

Brown is a board member for the Tri-State Cosmetology and Barber Association. The association was set up to represent the interests, growth and needs of salon owners, hairdressers, barbers, nail technicians, esthecians, educators and students in the states of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. In an effort to attract new members, the association is offering a free first-year membership. For more information visit http://tcbaofmemphis.com.
