With or without a valentine, you are still special!

With or without a valentine, you are still special!

Valentine’s Day, the day of love, is Sunday (Feb. 14). Every year, men, women, boys and girls take extra measures to show their significant other just how special he/she is. If you are someone like me, without a Valentine, there are still ways to feel special.

One way is to pamper yourself. Go to the spa and get your nails and hair done. Do whatever you need to do to feel special. One does not always need somebody else to feel special and loved.

Go hang out with other friends who do not have a Valentine. Maybe you all could hit the mall or go dancing at a club. There are a lot of parties going on for the holiday. Please, do not sit in the house watching romantic movies and eating ice cream; that is so depressing, trust me, I know!

If you are one who has been hit by Cupid’s arrow, then do what is expected and make your significant other know just how much you adore him/her. Write a poem, make a CD with songs that make you think of them, cuddle up and watch a movie, fix dinner, or have a picnic. Money doesn’t always have to be spent to show appreciation.

And if you are one who likes to spend money, go out to a nice restaurant and have a candlelight dinner. Buy your significant other flowers, an edible arrangement, or some jewelry.

Now most of us teens don’t have money like adults. We cannot afford to buy cars or extremely expensive jewelry. Still, we like to show our appreciation.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all. With or without a valentine, you are still special!
