“My inspiration for losing weight and changing my diet came about in 1996 when I tipped the scales at 190 pounds and wearing a size 14,” said Margie Sibley.

“My inspiration for losing weight and changing my diet came about in 1996 when I tipped the scales at 190 pounds and wearing a size 14,” said Sibley.

“I began to think about my husband, who has always had high blood pressure, diabetic on dialysis, overweight and other health problems that led to a heart attack and a kidney transplant about five years ago,” said Sibley.

“I don’t want to go through what James has gone through nor do I want to put anyone through what he took me through,” she added.

In 1996, when Sibley began her regimen, she started out walking one mile a day, four to five days a week. Now she is walking/jogging five miles and toning with elastic workout ropes.

“I changed my diet by eliminating beef, pork and sodas. I eat fish, poultry and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables with plenty of water. I currently weigh 153 pounds and wear a size 8,” said Sibley.

“I try to be an inspiration and encourage everyone around me to become health conscious, especially my six sisters in New Orleans because obesity and diabetes runs in our family.”
