I hear there’s trouble on the set of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s TNT drama “HawthoRNe.” And rumor has it that it isn’t anyone who actually works on the show. It’s actually Jada’s superstar husband, Will Smith. Apparently he is between movie projects and has been hanging around the set making script changes and halting production of the show. Meanwhile, everyone on the set is hoping that Will finds a movie to film so that he will go away.
Speaking of a new Will Smith movie, it looks like “Men in Black 3” might not be the next film on his agenda. He is expected to pass on another installment in the “Men in Black” franchise to star in “The City that Sailed,” which is about a New York-based magician and his estranged daughter who lives in the UK. When the girl discovers a magic room, Manhattan separates and starts to drift across the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll see what happens.
Everyone is buzzing about Erykah Badu’s new video for her single “Window Seat” where she walks the streets of Dallas in the nude. Was it computer generated? Was it real? Well, there is a report of her coming clean about it and admitting that she really was naked. She also mentioned that they only had one shot at getting it. She was also praying that the cops did not show. As out there as she might be, I don’t think she was crazy enough to do that for real, but who knows. Anyway, you can pick up her new album, “New Amerykah Part Two.” It’s in stores now.
Jill Scott is on the cover of the latest issue of Essence Magazine. She talks about staying busy raising her son and her growing acting career. She also mentions her work on her upcoming album as well as her role in Tyler Perry’s new film, “Why did I get Married Too,” which hits theaters this weekend. Be sure to go check it out.

On Another Note: Here’s What’s Happening! The past couple of years have been two of the most amazing years of my life. I have been able to build a successful media career that spans both radio and newspaper. Now I feel that this is a good time to take my career and brand to the next level.
This weekend I will be launching a publication called “What’s Happening Myron.” This will be a quarterly magazine that will focus on events and happenings in the Memphis and West Tennessee Region. The range of topics will be drawn from various fields, including business, entertainment, community and health. I will showcase African-American businesses that many don’t know exist.

Ask Myron:Q: “What ever happened to the R&B group H-Town? “
R. Gates, Memphis
A: Funny you should ask. H-Town has actually re-emerged recently with a new album that reunites fellow R&B group Jodeci and teeny bopper R&B singers Pretty Ricky on “Knocking Your Heels” – an updated version of their biggest hit, “Knocking the Boots.” H-Town has endured a lot of setbacks and hard knocks over the years. They have had to sue their former label boss, Luther Campbell, for royalties on their album sales, and they also lost one of their members in an automobile accident in 2003.
