The process of finding a candidate to replace President-elect Barack Obama’s in the Illinois Senate became more complicated this week following Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s arrest on corruption charges.
African Americans have been openly campaigning to have an African American succeed Obama, who was the only Black in the Senate. But now a 76-page affidavit by the U.S. Attorney's office alleges that Blagojevich sought to use the selection process for personal and political profit.
