Deidra Shores -- a
12-year-old student at Colonial Middle School -- is on a quest to win the
“Today Show” Kid Reporter contest. The Tri-State Defender is making the journey
with her via the Internet. Check in here at TSD Blog for reports from Deidra
and her mother, Vanessa Conner. On Wednesday, Deidra and Ms. Conner headed to New York City for Deidra's
Thursday appearance on the "Today Show" with three other finalists. She received and taped
her first assignment Thursday. Her second assignment was taped on Friday. They will beaired next Monday, Nov. 9th through
Tuesday Nov. 10th ending at 4 pm CST.
