VIOLENT CITY: A DEMAND FOR SOLUTIONS
By Dr. Karanja A. Ajanaku | Published  03/4/2008
Eyewitness News Everywhere is hosting an interactive town hall meeting to look at solutions to the violence taking place in Memphis.

The live interactive town hall will air on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on WPTY-TV, ABC24.

“This is about offering people an opportunity to share their thoughts and solutions to stopping the violence,” said News Director Jim Turpin.  “Whether they want to vent their frustration or tell us their ideas this is all about moving our city forward.”

Violent City: A Demand for Solutions will offer a live chat room for the exchange of ideas, a CrimeStoppers phone bank, along with interviews with city leaders. The head of CrimeStoppers, Buddy Chapman,  will be in the studio for anyone who wants to call with information that could help solve a crime.

Chief law enforcement officials have been invited to participate, along with elected officials, and a representative from Memphis City Schools.  Viewers can e-mail questions to myreport@myeyewitnessnews.com .

Eyewitness News Everywhere anchors Dee Griffin and Cameron Harper will moderate the interactive town hall meeting.
