“STOP THE KILLING” BACK TO SCHOOL RALLY
Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives (F.F.U.N.) will host its “5th Annual “Stop the Killing” Back to School rally on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Hollywood Community Center located at 1560 N. Hollywood Street in north Memphis from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The rallies represent the efforts of F.F.U.N. to unite communities and organizations, said Stevie Moore, F.F.U.N. founder
“The rallies are not only informative, resourceful and a day of family fun but provides needed school supplies for our urban youth,” said Moore.
“We believe educating our children is a priority and no child should have to start the school year without supplies. Our Back to School rally is one way we show support of our youth and a way of investing in their success and future."
Parents must accompany children in order to receive school supplies. Free school supplies, food and drinks will be given away while supplies last.
Guest speakers are Congressman Steve Cohen and State Representative Larry Miller. A host of other guests have been invited.
The event is free and open to the public.
